Minor Repairs
Better be safe then sorry!
Limescale and mold are a huge problem in many accommodations but prevention comes before everything!
To prevent them you might want to implement the following bits of advice:
- Regular cleaning: clean surfaces prone to limescale buildups like faucets, showerheads, and tiles, furthermore try to use mold-inhibiting cleaners.
- Dry surfaces: after using the bathroom or kitchen, wipe down the surfaces to remove excess moisture.
- Ventilation: ensure proper ventilation in all the rooms, by using a fan or opening the window. This will reduce humidity levels and minimize moisture buildup, which can contribute to mold growth and limescale formation.
- Sealants: ensure that areas prone to water exposure (Around sinks, bathtubs, and showers) are properly sealed to prevent water infiltration.
- Vinegar: using a mixture of vinegar and water can be really helpful in removing limescale deposits, and it also has antifungal properties hence preventing mold growth. Tow birds with one stone!
- Dry wet items: try to avoid leaving wet towels, sponges or bath mats in enclosed spaces for extended periods as they can promote mold growth.
- Reduce clutter: minimize clutter in areas like bathrooms and kitchens to allow better airflow and easier cleaning, reducing the likelihood of mold growth and limescale buildups in hidden areas.
